Kluang Station Kopitiam

Assalamualaikum & Salam 1Malaysia.

Since I am on week long holiday, so I have so much time to update this blog. I am not going for vacation but just lepak at home and have had breakfast...kampung style. Tomorrow, I'll be leaving to Pontian and I can't wait for kedai ketupat and kedai shima for breakfast......heheheh

Apart from reading, I love travelling either by bike or car. It depends on distance and location,. Once, I used to travel by bike as it was only my mode of transport. I did not have a car then. After married, my wife and I traveled only by car as she concerns about safety and security. My bike can't provide that.
Whenever I travel, I love to taste local food which close to local community. I like makan-makan too but not overdose la. Just to taste. Apart from Malay food, I am more to Chinese cuisines but not pork la or any alcoholic drinks.

This posting, I'd like to share my jalan-jalan cari makan in Kluang.

Well, this trip happened in February 2010 after attending my friend's sister wedding in Pagoh. My wife, mom-in-law, sis-in-law and I traveled all the way from Benut to Pagoh to attend the wedding. Then, we decided to have a pit stop at Kluang Station Kopitiam as my in-laws were never been there. And, they too love jalan-jalan.....Other than this kopitiam, I had tried Hai Peng in Kemaman and it was good as Kluang though.

This kopitiam has been 'stationed' inside KTM's Kluang Station...that's the kopitiam got its name...and it is famous in southern region especially Johor.

A must try meal while here is its half-boiled eggs and charcoal-toasted bread. It is worthy for your money. Not to forget the ice coffee...damn good!

 Standard menu at any kopitiam

I was in heaven...

It was hot and humid that day....see my baju...I had to un-buttoned.....heheheheh...not to show my chest hair but indeed it was hot...

My wife does not like half-boiled eggs and you can see her face.....she meant 'Yuck!'....

Well, after having our meal, it is time to wander around the station taking pictures. Here are several of them..
 Papan tanda 1Malaysia....

 The train is coming.....

 Bye bye....please don't leave me....

Eeeiiii.........terkezut akak......

So, after taking several pics, we moved to Pekan Ayer Hitam....when traveling with women....shopping should be part of it. You would spoil the party if shopping not included...tido luar la wok!!!

Well, that is my short story about the trip. I won't elaborate any further. Nanti korang penat plak baca...hehehe

My advise, take your time to go travel...there a lot of interesting places in Malaysia...and maybe just close to your place. Malaysia has a lot to offer to you.

Adios.

Wong Jowo....

Assalamulaikum & Salam 1Malaysia.

Hellooooo....it is quite some time I did not update my blog. Takde idea nak tulis apa...

I am on week long holiday...both Deepavali and Awal Muharram....To all Malaysians and my blog readers.....Selamat bercuti! Indeed, we Malaysians are blessed with so many public holidays..both national and states levels. Thanks God.......

I'm in Melaka before going balik kampung to Johor tomorrow. Well, today I'd like to share about my wife's kampung in Benut. It is kampung Parit Ramunia but better known as Parit Wagiman. Too many Parits and I sometimes got confused...."Parit apa plak ni?"..I used to ask my wife.

I am married to Salyana Sumiry from Benut or Kg. Parit Ramunia to be precised. This village is criss-crossed by a small junction. I told you so....the moment you cross a junction, it could be another parit or kampung. See this....

My wife is a Javanese decedent but she speaks little Jawa....town girl perhaps.

The village is surrounded by palm oil trees and no other crop plantation. The economic activities here are mostly cultivating sawit.

While cuti balik kampung, I woke early just to take these pictures. I always wake up early there and love the cool and breeze morning. It was crisp cold morning. I think the temperature was between 22-24 degree Celcius. No rushing and hectic life like KL, I love to be here.

 Memang sejuk pagi ni.....

These are the roads in the kampung....not for racing yeeerrr.......

I post this entry because in the next 10 years or so, I don't think this kampung is still there. Even now, it is difficult to see any young men there. Most of youngsters migrate to towns for better works and opportunities.
This happens across Malaysia. I can see lot of people during solat Jumaat......that's because congregation from nearby kampungs.

I took the pictures so we will never forget that from this kampung we came. And, we can show to the next generations and tell them about living in kampung. I believe most of today's kids don't even taste to enjoy swimming in rivers, chasing chickens for rendang, climbing trees (I can't...gayat), or melastik burung. Almost all of us coming from kampungs, no matter in Kelantan, Melaka, Sarawak or Sabah.

Ok lah. Time's up....lunch is ready. But, before I leave....the owner of blog after jalan-jalan taking pictures...hahahaha

Adios!

Cameron Highland balik hari (Cerita 2)

Assalamualaikum....

Waaahhhhh.....lama betul aku tak update blog nak kasi habis siri balik hari ni.....Sorry la....very busy lately..

Now I know that to write we need time and ideas.....and a peaceful state of mind. Without these elements, well....you could write and share but you would not be able to convey your message nicely.

Now, I'm Melaka..balik kampung to see my daughter. While I have so much free time and bit relax.....I'll finished what I have started.....to complete this story.

You can refer to my previous posting here.

This is the second part and final. Hmmm......

After having our lunch at the Marrybrown...we moved upward to Brinchang town.....the pasar malam actually. Last time, we went there with the whole Rahman's and Latifah's family and I was just get married. And today, my wife, daughter and I only.

The pasar malam is a standard as you can find across Malaysia. The only differences are they sell a lot of strawberry-based products and vegetables too...it is fresh indeed. Almost everything related and looks like strawberry.......you name it.......yogurt, drinks, fruits, clothes and even toys....

But what the must-try thing is.....strawberries dipped with chocolate......wowwweeeeee.....damn delicious.....but from wife's tastebud la......I don't like strawberry.....heheheh

There was nothing much except for the strawberry things.....everywhere strawberry.......

Since it's already late....we moved back to KL....but we stopped at this place....Cameron Valley Tea Shop....at Ringlet....on the way down to Tapah.

We had teh tarik at an exclusive price......fresh from farm....hahahaaha

The view from this high point was outstanding and beautiful...but...I am afraid of height...then I took pictures 'far away' from the rail.....hahahahahaha

We spent around 1 hour here before we moved back to KL. We had our dinner at Tapah rest area. We took several more pictures at the area but I won't share it here. Nothing special. We bought guava for our own consumption.

We reached home at around 10pm as I drove quite slow and relax. Luckily, no traffic jam.

Well, that is the story. It sounds crazy going to Cameron Highlands more 200km from home on daily trip. Yes, it was tiring but we were all happy with this journey. But, for daily trip, I would like to suggest for those interested, please make sure that you are ready body, mind and soul. It would take lot of your energy....hehehehhe.....but trust me......it is worthy!

Our beloved country, Malaysia has a lot to offer to her people. I really mean A LOT. Go travel and you will find and learn few things about the places, its people and culture. It does not mean you have to spend thousands ringgit, it is okay travelling domestic and near to your home. If you are filthy rich, it is up to you la where to go.

Adios!

Cameron highland balik hari (Cerita 1)

Assalamualaikum...

It is still not too late to wish all of readers "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri"...

This year it was Johor turn....I'll update the story about my raya in Johor soon....pictures cannot be uploaded as I left the transfer cable at my kampung.....sabar ye nak..

OK...while waiting my favourite "Dog Whisperer" to be on air.....mau sambung my craziest day trip to Cameron Highlands.....intro here.

It was started early on Saturday morning while watching tv. I was planning to go to office to clear all the works but after my wife asking about jalan-jalan...the i cancelled my plan lah...I knew she was bored...hehehehe.....what a 'suami mithali'....hahahaha

OK lah....after a quick preparation and my daughter was ready to go and looked cun...we moved out at around 9.00am. I believed there will be no traffic jam on that day as it was not a school holiday or any festive seasons.

We stopped at Rawang rest area for quick breakfast....but not that quick la since that little girl was around.....looking for bubur nasi and luckily there was a stall selling it.

I had a very light breakfast......tak mau mengantuk....hehehehe

After all finished, we started the journey to the highlands. The driving was smooth and not many cars on the highway. ..not even a single superbike too....heheheheh....we stopped for refueling at Tapah rest area....

Reminder, once you see this signboard....turn left....I took Tapah route as it was nearer...

I told my wife that our journey had just started..this was just a beginning....hehehehhe

Now, I had to tame the sharp corners like a pro....I wished I was on my kapcai to 'entertain' the corner and chicane....hahahahha

However, we did not stop here...

Until we saw this gigantic strawberry on the road side and we stopped for pictures....this is the sign that Cameron Highlands is just around the corner. Remember, this fruit is not for consumption.....sangat bahaya pada kesihatan gigi anda....hahahahha

Since it was already lunch time and it was time to prepare my daughter 'appertizer'...susu la.....apa lagi.....once again we stopped at Ringlet to prepare susu.....berapa banyak kali berhenti la......

We reached Tanah Rata at 1.30pm.......the air was cool and not too hot that day....very refreshing. After parking my car, we rushed to the nearest Marrybrown for lunch....bila dingin ni.....perut memang rasa lapar la.. Sorry no pictures while eating....tak sempat nak capture.

After lunch, we lepak a while outside the restaurant...amik angin sejuk....aku pun nak amik 'angin'...hahahaha

So...after the food was comfortable in our tummy, we moved to Brinchang.....several kilometres up from Tanah Rata. Brinchang is well-known with its pasar malam...if I'm not mistaken only on Saturdays and Sundays....

The traffic was quite heavy all the way to Brinchang...and luckily, the air was cool and refreshing....I can tell you this because the air-cond was off......hahhahaa

I plan to complete this story in 2 parts.....macam drama plak..hehehe......I'll continue soon.

Adios!

Cameron highland balik hari

Assalamualaikum...

Jumpa lagi kita ye. Ramadhan pun dah masuk 10 hari terakhir. Kejap je ye....dah nak raya. Tahun ni balik Johor......huhuhuhuhu.....

Oklah. This is just a short entry for our day trip to Cameron Highlands on 23 June 2012. It was our craziest day trip to date. It was began on that very Saturday morning while I was watching tv. Suddenly my wife asked me about to go out jalan-jalan somewhere. Indeed, I was planning to go to office to clear all my backlogs and with the 'request'..put me off. hahahaha....

She suggested Genting but I declined because too costly and close to Kota Damansara. She then suggested Bukit Frazer and I declined once more. Nothing there.....nak main kuda boleh la....tapi takkan sampai petang nak main kuda.

Then, Cameron Highlands popped out of my mouth. She asked,"Jauh tak bang?". I said,"Ada lah dalam 2 jam perjalanan. Tak jauh la." I was guessing only but it took quite some time to reach.

I post here some pictures.....warm up dulu... Story will be coming later...

It was tiring and exhausting.....driving 400km return......but it was fun indeed.

Oklah. Time to turu or sleep in Jawa....

See ya! Adios...

Jalan - jalan : Cherating 2012 (Siri 3)

Assalamualaikum....

I was very busy lately. It drained me out. Body, mind and soul.

Ingatkan nak update masa hujung minggu tapi tak kesampaian.

Biasalah, awal pagi aku dah bangun. Tapi tak dapat la nak tengok sunset...pasai view balkoni terlindung dek pokok.....hanya dapat rasa angin laut dan dengar bunyi ombak menghempas pantai je. Hehehehhe

Tak lama aku berenang....kolamnya tak menarik...not as good as Legend's........hahahahaha......

ada plan lain masa hari terakhir ni......nak mencanting batik.....haaaaaa.........kat mana tu? Bukan, madam asik tanya kat mana nak canting batik......

Yok kita ke tempat kejadian...tapi sebelum check out la dulu....kang naya je kena belasah pasal tak bayau bil hotel....

Bayau dan usha awek kat kaunter tu...commeeeyyyy....hehehehe

Bab komen.....bagi kat mak datin ni......

Kita dah nak balik KL la kakak....

Udah selesai urusan check out...kami bergerak pantai Cherating....nak cari tempat canting batik gak.....kalau tak mau tidur luar aku 3 bulan....hahahahahha....main gamble je masuk tempat ni....not bad....jumpa gak.....tengok koleksi gambau je.....

Ini lah tempatnya.....tempat ni penuh dgn chalet n resort mampu duduk...hehehhe...view pun boleh tahan

Yok surfing.....

Ini lah kedainya...tempat nak canting tu......

Lama gak nak mencanting ni...bagi pro mungkin kejap je...tapi novis macam kami ni....dekat sejam gak la...dan hasilnya.....

Lepas setel batik suma....kami amik kesempatan beli sikit buah tangan untuk diri sendiri...hehehhee

Ratu shopping.....

Pergilah bercuti...kalau solo...wat cara solo....kalau berkeluarga.......lagi best kot...

Memang aku suka Cherating....dan Kuantan.....I love the place, food and beaches.....

For our next trip, it would be East Malaysia...either Sarawak or Sabah......however...it is really depending on fund available....hahahahha.....ikat perut beb...

My next update......our craziest day trip to date........where to......wait aaaa....hilang thrill cita skang....

I hope you will enjoy about this trip....this posting is short as I am tired. Until then, see ya! And Selamat Berpuasa to all friends and Muslims in Malaysia.
